🚀 RocketShopper

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 June 2026

The short version: RocketShopper has no servers and collects nothing about you — no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no trackers. The API keys you add stay on your own device, encrypted at rest. When you run a search, only the store's name and web address are sent — directly from your browser to the AI provider you chose, using your key — so it can look up that store's coupons.

What we collect

Nothing. The developer of RocketShopper does not collect, store, receive, or transmit any of your information. There are no RocketShopper accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and no servers operated by us that your data passes through.

Your API keys

To search, you connect one or more AI services by pasting an API key into the extension's settings. Those keys are encrypted at rest on your device — using the browser's Web Crypto API (AES-GCM) with a key that never leaves your machine and that ordinary code cannot read or export — and only the encrypted form is written to Chrome's storage.local. They are not synced to your Google account, are never sent to us, and are used only to authenticate your requests to the matching AI provider. You can remove them any time in settings, or by uninstalling the extension.

In Settings you can choose how keys are kept: encrypted on your device (default), passphrase-protected (encrypted with a passphrase only you know — keys persist across restarts but are useless to anyone without your passphrase), or memory-only (never written to disk; you re-enter them after restarting your browser).

An honest note on key safety: on-device encryption keeps your keys out of the plaintext data that bulk "infostealer" malware scrapes from browser profiles — but no browser extension can fully protect a key from malware that has already taken over your computer. Because an AI API key is metered and revocable, we strongly recommend creating keys with a spending cap that you can revoke at any time, which bounds the worst case.

What is sent when you search

When you press LAUNCH, RocketShopper sends a short request — the current store's name and domain and today's date — directly from your browser to the AI provider(s) you enabled (Grok / xAI, Claude / Anthropic, ChatGPT / OpenAI, or Gemini / Google), authenticated with your own API key. Those providers process the request to find coupon codes and return the results to you. We are not part of that exchange and never see it.

Your use of each provider is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy:

What RocketShopper reads from web pages

On shopping sites, RocketShopper reads only enough of the page to (1) recognise the store's name and web address and (2) detect whether there is a coupon-code box, so it can show its launch button and — if you tap "Apply" — type a code you selected into that box. It does not read or transmit your cart contents, payment details, addresses, or any personal information, and it does not send page contents anywhere.

Permissions, briefly

No selling or sharing of data

We do not sell or transfer your data to anyone, do not use it for any purpose unrelated to finding coupons, and do not use it for creditworthiness or lending. We don't have your data in the first place.

Children's privacy

RocketShopper is a general-audience shopping tool and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
