Privacy
The short version: this site collects nothing, because there is nothing here to collect it with.
No accounts. No analytics. No cookies. No tracking pixels. No server. Passports is a set of static files. Once the page has loaded, everything happens inside your own browser tab.
What is stored on your device
- The passport you last chose, and whether you have seen the welcome panel, are saved in your
browser’s
localStorage. That data never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it. - Nothing else is written, and nothing is ever read back to us — there is no “us” to read it.
What is sent over the network
- The page, the map, and the visa data files, all served from GitHub Pages. As with any web host, GitHub sees the request (including your IP address) in its own server logs. See GitHub’s privacy statement.
- Nothing is sent anywhere else. There are no third-party scripts, fonts, embeds or CDNs.
- Your passport choice and the countries you look at are never transmitted.
If you install the browser extension
The extension version bundles exactly the same files and opens them in a tab. It requests no permissions to read pages, no host permissions, and no network access beyond its own bundled files.
Accuracy, and what this is not
This is a reference built from public sources, not immigration advice. Visa rules change constantly. Always confirm with the destination’s embassy or your airline before you travel. Nothing here creates any entitlement to enter any country.
