Holocaust Atlas

Between 1933 and 1945 roughly six million Jews were murdered in Europe and North Africa. This is an attempt to map that — not as one number, but as the thousands of separate places where it happened, the communities that were there before, and the routes taken by those who got out and those who did not.

Every figure here carries its source and a confidence rating. Where historians disagree, the range is shown rather than a single number. Some of what follows is graphic. It is recorded because it happened.
